Frank Gardner, a close friend of Jack Brabham, died, August 29, 2009, age 78.

Frank Gardner was involved in motorsport for more than 50 years as a driver and engineer. Gardner was work’s driver for Porsche, Lola, General Motors, Ford, Brabham and Lotus and was the first driver in the world to chalk up 100 wins in international racing.
Twice British Champion Racing Driver, Gardner was also three times British Saloon Car Champion and European Formula 5000 Champion. He also won the European formula 2 Championship, the European Touring Car Championship and the European Saloon Car title. He competed in F1 for three years in the 1960s.
