Sir Stirling Moss with three of the significant Mercedes racers of his career. From left is the W196 “slipper” Grand Prix car with which Moss won his first Formula 1 World Championship race at his home Grand Prix at Aintree, England in 1955. Center is the 300SLR that propelled Moss and his navigator Denis Jenkinson to victory in the Italian Mille Miglia with a record time that still stands some 60 years latter. Finally, we see Mercedes-Benz W196 streamliner which Moss drove in his final F1 race for Mercedes at Monza in 1955.
