MADISON, WI – February 24, 2005 — Race Legends, Inc., the world’s leading vintage motorsport celebrity agency, today announces that its president, Donn F. Gurney, is appearing on a new Speed Channel installment of Behind the Headlights. This particular show focuses on the development of the Mercedes 300 SLR sports car and it domination of the 1995 World Championship for sports cars.
Gurney appears along with other automotive historians, editors and two Race Legends clients, Sir Stirling Moss and Phil Hill. The hour long program covers the development of the 300 SLR, it’s near total domination of the 1955 season. Of particular interest is Moss’s record-breaking run in the Italian Mille Miglia with Dennis Jenkinson as his navigator. The 1955 Le Mans crash where the Mercedes of Levegh killed over 80 spectators is also covered in some detail.
