LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – October 7, 2002 — Race Legends, Inc., the world’s leading vintage motorsports talent agency, organized an interview session at the Peterson Automotive Museum with two of the world’s best-known auto racing champions, Phil Hill and Sir Stirling Moss. The occasion of the interview was to support Dunlop Tire’s new national television advertising campaign that is to feature some of the most prominent auto racing legends that drove to victory on Dunlop tires.
Seated before selected vehicles from the Peterson’s collection, noted automotive author and historian Tim Considine acted as the moderator. Hill and Moss, who battled one another in a wide-range of races in the 1950s and 1960s, engaged in a far-reaching conversation about their careers, the state of motorsports today and the importance of cutting-edge equipment in achieving victory in competition.
“I hadn’t been interviewed so extensively with Phil before and so it was quite entertaining to carry on about our races together.”, said British racing star Stirling Moss. “We were quite competitive back then, you know, and I felt some of that spirit come through during our session.”
The October 2002 issue of Road & Track Magazine marks the debut of the new Dunlop Tire national advertising campaign. More print, television and tradeshow advertising will be released over the next few months.
The inaugural print ad features the Formula One 1961 World Drivers Champion, Phil Hill, shown after accepting the trophy for his win at Monza, Italy.
“I’m flattered to be one of those chosen for this campaign,” said Hill. “Dunlop provided the tires we needed to be able to win the championship in 1961 and having the opportunity to chat at length about racing with Stirling and Tim was a lot of fun.”
