Brabham Racing Team Principal David Brabham

Banbury, Oxfordshire, UK – Friday 12 December 2014: Project Brabham will make its first public showcase at Autosport International, held at Birmingham’s NEC (UK) on 8-11 January 2015, giving fans, drivers and engineers the chance to back and be an integral part of the iconic Brabham Racing team’s return through a bold, sustainable open source racing model.

Autosport International 2015Autosport International visitors can visit stand number 7210 in Hall 7 to learn more about the programme, meet key members of the team and subscribe to the Brabham-Digital online experiences, Brabham-Fan, Brabham-Driver and Brabham-Engineer.  Led by Sir Jack’s youngest son, sportscar legend David, Project Brabham’s bold new approach for racing makes motorsport more accessible, transparent, and engaging to fans, while allowing the team to be more self-sufficient.

Brabham Racing Team Principal David Brabham, who will be appearing on the stand and conducting autograph signing sessions throughout the event, commented: “We are really looking forward to being at Autosport International for the first time to showcase our ideas and concepts to bring the iconic Brabham name back as a racing team. It will give us a valuable opportunity to meet our Project Brabham backers and engage new supporters.

“After our successful crowdfunding campaign, we have been busy putting the prospectus together to get the required funding to turn our ideas and dreams into a reality and start building the front end of Brabham-Digital. Through that unique online portal members will get exclusive access to team information that is usually a closely guarded secret and become a vital part of the team.”

Believing the time for change has come, Brabham is throwing open the doors of the team as it strives to return via the FIA World Endurance Championship, with a three-year LMP2 campaign preceding its comeback as a manufacturer in LMP1.

The first of its kind in the sport, Brabham-Digital, a knowledge sharing and e-learning platform, will provide unrivalled behind-the-scenes access, immersing members in the highs and lows of returning the team to world-class status.

Project Brabham has already earned outstanding support from around the world. It raised £278,057, nearly £30,000 over its initial target, in six weeks through the first crowdfunding phase and now boasts a 3,000 strong community that has become the heartbeat of the team.

Thanks to its crowdfunding success the Project Brabham Indiegogo page remains open under the Forever Funding pilot, allowing supporters to pre-purchase an annual membership to any of the three Brabham-Digital online experiences. Join the new Brabham Racing journey and become part of the team by visiting www.brabham.co.uk and clicking on the Indiegogo homepage link.
